The Before Baby Visit prepares you before your due date. Every adult in the room leaves with an AHA Heartsaver Pediatric certification, your car seat is installed by a CPST-certified technician, and you have a written hazard assessment plan for your home.

Each visit ends with your adults CPR-certified, your car seat professionally installed, and a written room-by-room safety plan in your hands, delivered to your home by a licensed paramedic or ER nurse.

The Before Baby Visit

Every visit ends with three things done

  • Every adult in the room, up to six, leaves with an official AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification, covering infant and child CPR, choking response, AED use, and pediatric first aid.
  • Up to two car seats professionally installed and verified by a CPST-certified technician.
  • A written, room-by-room plan identifying key hazards and recommended actions, reviewed with your family before we leave.

The Toddler Visit

Every visit ends with three things done

  • Every adult in the room, up to six, leaves with their AHA Heartsaver Pediatric certification renewed, with a hands-on refresher on infant and child CPR, choking response, AED use, and toddler-specific hazards.
  • Up to two car seats inspected and reinstalled for your toddler's current stage by a CPST-certified technician.
  • An updated written plan identifying key hazards for a mobile child, reviewed with your family before we leave.

We review your situation and start building your custom, actionable child proofing plan so the visit is spent reviewing and doing, not starting from scratch.

We come to you

Your Before Baby practitioner arrives with everything needed. You end the visit certified, with your car seat installed and your written plan in hand.

Founding team

Built by people who have seen what's at stake.

Before Baby was founded by a Bay Area paramedic and an ER nurse who have spent their careers responding to the emergencies that preparation can prevent. They built this service because the knowledge exists. What doesn't always exist is access to it, delivered properly, in your home, at the right moment. Steven and Megan are our founding practitioners. Every Before Baby visit is delivered by a licensed paramedic or ER nurse credentialed in CPST car seat installation and AHA Heartsaver instruction.

Request Your Visit

Tell us a little about your family and when works for you. We will confirm your visit date as soon as we can. First visits begin Fall 2026.

All bookings require a short home video walkthrough submitted at least one week before your visit. We use it to build your custom hazard assessment plan before we arrive.

We will confirm your visit date within 48 hours of receiving your request. Dates are subject to availability.
